· Current research activities: Magnetic ordering and spin dynamics of CMR manganites and other transition metals and alloys utilizing neutron scattering techniques.
· Neutron scattering research at national and international facilities: HFIR at ORNL, NCNR at NIST, IPNS at ANL, HFR at the Institut Laue Langevin (France), ISIS at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (England), ORPHEE reactor at the Laboratoire Leon Brillouin (France) and the JRR-3m reactor at the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (Japan).
· Coorganized the Workshop on CMR Manganites and related Transition Metal Oxides, Telluride, CO, July 14-20, 2002.
· Member of the Program Committee, First American Conference on Neutron Scattering, Knoxville, TN June 23-27, 2002.
· Coorganized the Focus Topic Sessions on “Magnetoresistive manganites and related transition metal alloys”, March Meeting of the American Physical Society, Seattle, WA, March 2001.
· Member of the Research Committee of the U. S. Japan Cooperative Program on Neutron Scattering (ISSP-ORNL and JAERI-ORNL programs) since June 1994. Duties include the coordination and planning of joint experimental projects and the organization of scientific workshops.
· Instrument scientist for the (US-Japan collaboration) Wide Angle Neutron Diffractometer at the High Isotope Reactor. Duties included the maintenance and upgrade of the instrument, as well as being the local contact for research projects utilizing this instrument.
· Author or coauthor of over 80 technical articles, one book chapter and one book section. Editor of a book on amorphous magnetism (World Scientific, 1995).
